Strengthening Franklin County’s downtowns and main streets is a priority for FCEDC — and here are two key reasons why:
The Heart of Our Communities. Our downtowns are the heart and soul of our communities and their most financially productive places (e.g. they have the most jobs, generate the most tax revenue, and make the most efficient use of infrastructure).
Talent Attraction. More than ever, people of all ages are discovering the benefits of being able to work from anywhere and are seeking authentic places to live. In the Adirondack Frontier, we invest in who we are (amazing communities surrounded by beautiful forests and farmland) because that is what people are looking for. Talent attraction is about focusing on the needs and wants of people and the evidence is clear, people want to live in or have access to thriving downtowns.
Successful downtowns require work and cooperation. We look forward to continuing to work with businesses, local governments, and other partners to help leverage our downtowns and main streets as a talent attraction engine. Check out some of our key downtown projects below.
