Franklin County, NY — The Franklin County Economic Development Corporation (FCEDC) is proud to administer the NYS Resilient & Ready Storm Recovery Program here in Franklin County. Since Tropical Storm Debby, we’ve worked side-by-side with affected homeowners to create detailed scopes of work that will help them rebuild, recover, and return to safe housing.
Homeowners across Franklin County need a variety of repairs and renovations requiring the skill and expertise of masons, carpenters, electricians, HVAC technicians, plumbers, and mold remediation specialists. There are 10 larger structural projects and an additional 15 smaller projects in need of estimates. However, many homeowners are struggling to find contractors to provide quotes for their projects.
Jeremy Evans, FCEDC CEO, acknowledged the area has a dwindling number of contractors. “The challenges these owners face are a reminder of the shortage of qualified contractors we have. But there is approximately $750,000 in funding available to get this work done and we hope contractors respond. This is a call to action to respond to an opportunity to help our neighbors during a difficult time and put money in the pockets of our hard working tradespeople.”
