Draft 2025 Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy Released
Franklin County Releases Draft 2025 Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy for Public Comment
Franklin County, NY — The Franklin County Economic Development Corporation (FCEDC) is proud to announce the release of the Draft 2025 Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) — a dynamic, community-driven blueprint for building a stronger, more resilient Franklin County.
Developed with insight from regional leaders, local stakeholders, and national consultants, the updated CEDS reflects months of collaboration, data analysis, and on-the-ground input. It outlines a bold vision for our shared economic future — one rooted in local values, community assets, and long-term opportunity.
“Economic development is about more than numbers — it’s about people, place, and possibility,” said Jeremy Evans, CEO of FCEDC. “This strategy is not just a plan. It’s an invitation. We’re asking our residents, business owners, and community leaders to help shape the future of Franklin County.”
The CEDS identifies key economic trends, emerging opportunities, and community priorities across sectors such as small business, agriculture, workforce development, housing, infrastructure, and tourism. It also highlights strategic goals and a set of priority projects that will guide implementation over the next five years.
At its core, the 2025 CEDS is built around a single, powerful idea: growing the number of working-age residents in Franklin County. This goal reflects what we heard again and again from residents, business owners, and local leaders across the region — and it’s backed by the data. More people means stronger communities, a deeper workforce, and a more vibrant economy. In short, people are the strategy.
