Franklin County IDA/LDC Administers a $20,000 New York Main Street Technical Assistance Grant

Franklin County IDA/LDC is a unifying economic development organization that fosters a shop-local, community-first culture. We help entrepreneurs start businesses and help established businesses grow. We take a proactive approach to attract visitors with the hope they’ll become locals.

It is that intersection of developing business, community, and destination that informs and inspires our work every day as Franklin County moves toward a bright and prosperous future.

WHAT WE’RE DOING RIGHT NOW:
Administering a $20,000 New York Main Street Technical Assistance grant project in Downtown Malone to develop design guidelines and complete facade renderings.

In 2019, FCLDC, in partnership with the Village of Malone, received a $20,000 New York Main Street Program Technical Assistance grant. Funding will be used for the following two projects that will help drive revitalization in Downtown Malone:

  1. Insite Architecture will develop building design guidelines for Downtown Malone. The guidelines will help owners understand how to make renovations that will restore or enhance features that contribute to the historic character of downtown buildings.
  2. Working with individual owners, Insite Architecture will complete facade studies for several downtown buildings. These studies will provide specific recommendations for how the facades of these buildings could be renovated to restore or enhance historic features and contribute to an improved streetscape for Downtown Malone.

The project will be complete by the end of 2020.
