The Adirondack Frontier Trades Fund is a microenterprise grant program offered by the Franklin County Economic Development Corporation (FCEDC) to support entrepreneurs and small businesses working in the skilled trades.
Whether you’re starting a business or looking to grow an existing operation, the Trades Fund is designed to help eligible tradespeople access resources to invest in their businesses.

Supporting the Skilled Trades
Skilled trades businesses are essential to Franklin County’s economy.
From building new homes and renovating existing properties to maintaining essential systems and supporting commercial development, tradespeople provide the expertise that keeps our communities moving forward.
FCEDC created the Trades Fund to support local entrepreneurship, strengthen small businesses and expand economic opportunities in the skilled trades.
The program focuses on investing in the people and businesses that serve our communities.

The Trades Fund is intended for eligible microenterprises operating in the skilled trades.
Depending on the program’s final eligibility requirements, relevant trades may include:
- Carpentry and general construction
- Electrical services
- Plumbing
- Heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC)
- Masonry and concrete
- Roofing and siding
- Painting and finishing
- Other eligible construction and skilled trades
Both new and existing businesses are encouraged to review the program requirements.
