Franklin County Economic Development Corporation Applauds Adirondack Park Community Smart Growth Program Funding Awards


Franklin County, NY – The Franklin County Economic Development Corporation (FCEDC) joins with partner communities and organizations to celebrate recently announced Adirondack Park Community Smart Growth Program funding awards. 

The Adirondack Park Community Smart Growth Program recognizes the unique challenges and opportunities that Adirondack Park communities experience has consistently funded important projects that make a big impact. The FCEDC extends its gratitude to Governor Hochul and the New York State Legislature for their continued support of this vital program.

Through this program, significant funding has been allocated to support various community and regional priorities, including enhancing park infrastructure, improving water quality, and bolstering the arts scene.

In Franklin County, the following projects have been awarded funding:

  1. Village of Saranac Lake: $300,000 for the remediation of soil to facilitate the construction of the new Pendragon Theatre.
  2. Franklin County Soil & Water Conservation District: $125,000 to support Adirondack Park Road Stream Crossing Management Planning.
  3. Town of Harrietstown: $122,000 for the expansion of Municipal Park.
  4. Town of Tupper Lake: $300,000 to enhance the Train Station Rail Trail Readiness Site.

These projects underscore the commitment of Franklin County and its partner communities to sustainable development and community enrichment.

“We are excited about the opportunities these projects will bring to our communities,” said Jeremy Evans, CEO of FCEDC. “This funding will not only improve infrastructure but also contribute to the overall quality of life for residents and visitors alike.”
